Your link

Why track every affiliate link

Most affiliates use one link everywhere, then have no idea which video or post made the sale. Adding utm_source and utm_campaign to each link shows you exactly where your clicks come from, in the program's dashboard or in your own analytics.

How to name your tags

Keep it simple and consistent: utm_source is the platform (youtube, newsletter, x, blog), utm_medium is the type (affiliate), and utm_campaign is the piece of content (best-seo-tools-video). Lowercase with dashes is easiest to read later.

Find your referral parameter

Programs run on platforms like Rewardful, FirstPromoter or PartnerStack use parameters such as ?via=, ?fpr= or ?ref=. Copy the exact one from your affiliate dashboard. If you are still choosing programs, AffiDex lists the commission, cookie length and payouts of each one.

FAQ

What is a referral parameter?

It is the part of an affiliate link that tells the program who sent the visitor, such as ?ref=yourname or ?via=yourname. Each program uses its own name for it, shown in your affiliate dashboard.

Do UTM tags break affiliate tracking?

No. UTM tags are extra parameters that analytics tools read. The referral parameter still tells the program who gets the commission. Test the link once in a private window to be sure.

Why use a different link per channel?

With one link per video, post or email, you can see which channel brings clicks and sales, then spend your time on what works.

Does this tool store my links?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.
